Candle care & safety tips

Having a pleasant environment is a form of self-care, and when you’re using candles to transform your space, you want to ensure you are properly handling them to extend burn time, getting the best scent throw, and keeping your home and loved ones safe.

Here are a few candle care & safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Each time you light your candle, allow the entire top layer to liquify. Doing this prevents your candle from tunneling down the middle and wasting your wax.

  • Keep your wick trimmed at no longer than 1/8 inch.  You can trim your wick with a candle wick trimmer, or even a pair of nail clippers.

  • Candles should be burned on a heat resistant surface in clear, open spaces away from drafts, wind, fans, items that can catch fire, etc.

  • Never leave a candle burning overnight or when you leave your home.

  • Do not burn your candles for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

  • Keep your candles out of reach of pets and children for their safety.
